Member Services Manager (Part-Time)

• Salary will be based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, but we are happy to consider recent enthusiastic graduates with an interest in the industry.
• The position is expected to commence on a part-time basis, with remuneration prorated accordingly.
• Working arrangements will be flexible according to GMAC’s operational requirements and the employee’s availability.
• The working schedule shall be arranged so that employment remains within the requirements applicable to part-time employment under Chinese law, including:
1)Average working time for GMAC not exceeding four hours per day; and
2)Total working time for GMAC not exceeding 24 hours per week.
3)As GMAC is a not-for-profit industry association, remuneration reflects both experience and the organisation's resources.
4)A performance bonus will be available based on agreed membership growth and member engagement objectives.
5)Flexible working arrangements are available, including working from home, hybrid working and hot-desking, with attendance at meetings and events as required.
6)Domestic and potential international travel may be required.
7)As GMAC continues to grow, there may be opportunities for the role to expand in both responsibility and working hours for the right candidate.
Reporting to the Chair (or the Board's nominated representative) and works closely with the Board, Finance Director, committees and external service providers.
This is an exciting and varied role for someone who enjoys working with people, organising events, communicating with senior industry professionals and helping build a growing international organisation.
Working closely with the Chair and Board, you will play a central role in delivering excellent member services while helping expand one of China's leading international mining networks.
This position offers the opportunity to work with executives from leading mining companies, service providers, government organisations and industry associations throughout China and internationally.
• Manage member enquiries, applications, renewals and membership records.
• Act as the first point of contact for members, prospective members and stakeholders.
• Coordinate conferences, technical seminars, networking functions, industry visits and member events.
• Prepare newsletters, member communications and promotional material.
• Maintain GMAC's website, WeChat, LinkedIn and other digital platforms.
• Support membership growth through recruitment, engagement and retention initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with members, sponsors and industry partners.Work closely with the Board to ensure the professional delivery of GMAC activities.
The successful applicant will have:
• Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• A proactive, customer-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with membership organisations, chambers of commerce, professional associations, event management, marketing, social media or the mining and resources sector would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
• Most importantly, we are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, takes pride in delivering excellent service and wants to contribute to the continued growth of GMAC.

Special GMAC Monthly Meeting, hosted by new Chairman John Johnson, featured a “barroom chat” between outgoing Chairman Peter Arkell and Reuters correspondent Lewis Jackson. The discussion reflected on GMAC’s history, growth, and impact since 2011; celebrated Peter Arkell’s leadership in building GMAC into a leading international mining association in China, and highlighted GMAC’s partnerships, research, training programs, and industry events. The meeting also marked the transition to a new chapter of leadership while recognising Peter’s lasting legacy.
